Cite two specific moments from the text (quotes) that you could comprehend because of your prior-knowledge. PARAGRAPH 2: Explain one moment in the text that stood out to you. ALL READING CLASSES: Complete the following journal prompt, based on your independent reading novel, in your reading journal: LEFT-HAND SIDE OF READING JOURNAL PAGE - Create an illustration based on one character from your independent reading book. Your illustration should incorporate 4 CHARACTER TRAITS that the author states directly (direct characterization) OR that you inferred while reading (indirect characterization). RIGHT-HAND SIDE  OF READING JOURNAL PAGE - (Paragraph 1): Explain the character traits you chose for your drawing and why they are important. For TWO of those FOUR traits, use quotes from the text to show why they are important. (Paragraph 2) Identify whether your chosen traits are examples of DIRECT or INDIRECT characterization. FOR ALL READING CLASSES: Based on your independent reading novel, create 3 predictions related to character growth, 3 predictions based on plot AND 1 prediction based on theme. For each prediction, explain your reasoning. ALSO, for each category (character, plot and theme), provide 1 QUOTE that supports 1 OF YOUR PREDICTIONS IN THAT CATEGORY. (due 9/18/18)
